Ollivier waß defeated by Brown (Wellington) this morning. Siedeberg (Dunedin) and Hookham (Christchurch) therefore tied for second place, for which the prize is a trophy value £7 103 ; but on the application of the Sonneborne system, Siedeberg took the prize, with 634 points, Hookham's score being 4-J- points less. Each had six wins and three losses to his credit. .Ollivier and Sexton camo next, with five wins and four losses, but, by the Sonneborne syßtem, the former takes the fourth place.
