I The following are the revenue returns for the nine months ending Dec. 31 :— Customs, £1,121,939; Stamps, £41,184; Post acd Telegraphs, £39,211 ; Property tax, £211,468 ; beer duty, £41,615 ; railj ways, £784,791 ; registration, &c, fees, £29,903 ; marine, £14,101 ; miscellaneous, £28,202; territorial, £104,597; Land fund, ordinary 5a1e5, £85,228; deferred payment?, £35,739. Total, including shillings a:.d pence, £2,878,033. The actual collections are considerably more than the above figures, a3 tbe latter only represent moneys brought to account by the Treasury. The accounts for the last quarter of the financial year always contain the largest receipts, because the revenue is telegraphed, on the last day, from all parts of the Colony. The expenditure for the nine months is well within bounds, and the Treasury officials anticipate that the financial results of the year will be up to expectation.
