Sefton Farmers' Club.
The annual meeting of the above Club was held on Saturday night, in the Town Hall, Sefton. Mr John Vallance, VicePresident, occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The annual balance-sheet was submitted, and Bhowed a credit balance of .£ls 12s 4d. Thiß was considered highly satisfactory, and, on the motion of Mr J. Elwood, seconded by Mr Thomas Hanna, the balance-sheet was adopted. Mr Elwood proposed a vote of thanks to the officers for the way in which they had conducted the business of the Club during the past year. Carried unanimously. The election of officers was then proceeded with, and resulted as follows :— Mr C. Ensor, President ; Mr John Vallance, jun., Vice-president; Mr Thomas Wy lie, Secretary and Mr R. Lewis, Treasurer. Mr Vallance reported that the Kowai Road Board would provide funds as usual for purchasing small birds' eggs, and had appointed Messrs J. Elwood, J. M'Leod andT. Wylie, in addition to the members, to purchase them. A discussion took place on turnip growing, and it was pointed out that the best time to sow the seed was about the middle of the present month. Several other matters were discussed and attended to, after which the meeting adjourned. _^_______^^__
