LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

o The usual fortnightly meeting of the above Council was held on Monday evening; present— His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. B. Milsom), Couucillori JFitzHenry, Brice, Joyce, Hildyp.rd, Allwright, Thompson, M'Lellan, Cook, and Webb. Correspondence was received :— From Audit Department, with reference to the balance-sheet. From the Charitable Aid Board having reference to the election of members on the Hospital Board. Councillor Joyce moved that his Worship the Mayor and Councillor Allwright be nominated. Councillor Brice seconded the motion, which was carried; FINANCE. The report of the Finance Committee was read and adopted. It showed receipts since last meeting as .£263 12s, made up* of rent .£l9 10s, rates .£lO lGs, water £223 10s 6d, sundries £4 15s 6d. Accounts amounting to .£l5B 8s 9d, were passed for payment. The report also showed that about £400 was due for outstanding rates. REPORTS. The Estates Committee's report was read, and referred back to the Committee for the purpose of obtaining legal advice. The Foreman of Works report was read. The engineer at the pumping station made one or two suggestions re the alterations proposed to be effected at the station, which were referred to the Water Supply Committee. SUNDRIES. It was decided to ask the contractor for tho supply of dog collars to execute them for the coming year at the same price as that paid last year. Itwas agreed that the Mayor's honorarium for the coming year should be .£IOO. ' Tenders were received for tha valuation of the Borough, and that of J. P. Jones, £15, was accepted.
