Friday, Oct 17. | AFTERNOON SITTING. The Bishop took his seat at 4 p.m. FEINTING. MrM'lntyre moved — "That the recommendation of the Standing Committee that in future certain accounts should not be printed, be adopted." The Bey W. A. Pascoe seconded the motion, which was carried. DIOCKBAN OFFICE. Mr M'lntyre moved — " That the consent of Synod be given to the removal of the diocesan offices to Lewis* Buildings, Hereford street, and that the necessary notice be given by the Standing Committee to terminate the tenancy of the present offices." The Eev W. E. Gillam seconded the motion. After some discussion, Mr John Grigg moved an amendment—" That the debate be adjourned till Tuesday, in order that the Bishop may inspect the premises in question, with a view to ascertaining their suitableness or otherwise for the proposed purpose." The amendment was adopted. STANDING COMMITTEE. The Eev J. OB. Hoare moved—" That the Bill for providing a new Standing Committee be read a Becond time and considered in Committee." The mover explained that the object of the Bill was to concentrate the work of the Dioceße. The duties hitherto performed by the Church Work Society would devolve on the Standing Committee, the number of members of which it was proposed to increase to provide for the additional work to be done. The Bill was read a second time and committed. The Committee's deliberations were interrupted by the six o'clock adjournment. EVENING~~SITTING. The Synod resumed at 7.30, and immediately resolved itself into Committee on the Standing Committee BUI. The Bill was reported with amendments at 9.50. The third reading of the Bill was arranged for Wednesday. THANKS FOB BEEMON. Mr H. E. Webb moved— "That the thanks of the Synod be accorded to the Eev W. A. Pascoe for the sermon preached by him on the occasion of the opening of the Synod, and that he be requested to allow the same to be published in the Church News." The motion was carried, and the Synod adjourned till Monday.
