♦ [Peb Pbess Association.] ■ WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. At the inquest on the body of Charles Neilson, who committed suicide at the Asylum, a verdict way returned of " Suicide while of unsound mind." The evidence showed that the doctors, in committing him, noted on the certificate that he was of a suicidal tendency, and he was therefore placed in a padded room. He, however, managed to elude the vigilance of the warders, and, by means of a sheet, hung himself to one of the ventilators. TIMABU, Oct. 17. A man named Cornelius Sullivan was killed at Temuka to-night by a traction engine running over him. No particulars are to hand. DUNEDIN, Oct. 17. At the inquest on the body of Henry Dixon, who committed suicide by blowing out his brains with dynamite, a verdict was returned that deceased killed himself while in a Btate of despondency.
