THE WRECKAGE.
♦ [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. There ia little evidence from the «argo picked up at the Chatham Islands to identify it with that on board the missing barque Asaaye. According to a manifest which is held here, it is thought possible that one case, marked T in diamond, may be one case of a consigmenfc of brandy for Messrs W. and G. Turnbull and Co., the local agents of the vessel j but from inquiries made from various departments of the Government service which are known to have goods on board, none of tho marks shown ou their invoices correspond with those mentioned in the telegram. WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. An official report, forwarded by the Collector of Customs at the Chathams to Government, says that a portion of the decking found was pronounced Clyde built, and the buoy was marked S.M. The Hinemoa is expected to arrive at Dunedin in a fortnight. i
