[Besaivea Oct. 18, at 10:35 a.m.] SYDNEY, Ocr. 18. Resigning. DXr Young, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, who recently called a meeting of his credjtora, is resigning. BEIBBANE, OCT. 18. Queensland. Mr M'Orossan brought forward in the Assembly a motion that the territorial separating «£ the northern portion of the Colony ie desirable. Sir &. Griffiths . moved, as an amendment, that it would be to the advantage of the Colony to establish separate Legislatures and Executive authorities in the northern, southern and central parts, with full jsowers to deal with questiono of local concern, but that -matters of general imjsortance and the administration of public debts should eemain under the control of one Legislature, until the eatabliskmentof Australian Federation. Tiie debtte was .adjourned.
