Libel Action.
[Prb Press Association.] WELLINGTON. June 25. The libel action, E. Batcher v. J. ! Payton, proprietor of the Masterton daily, begins this morning. The claim is £1000 for damaging paragraphs alleged to have been prejudicial to the plaintiff, which led to his dismissal by hiß employers. The defence is a denial of any libel, and that plaintiff was not dismissed in consequence of the paragraphs.
