THE AUSTRALIAN TEiM. [Special to Press Association.] LONDON, Juhb 21. In their first innings the Players made 526. The other scores are — Brigge, 1 ; Attewell, not out, 20 ; Shewin, 9. Turner took two wicketa for 116 runs, E erris took three for 134, Lyons two for 120, Trumble one for 99. Gunn, who wbb at the wickets for nine and a-half hours, gave a wonderful and faultless display of batting. His score of 228 included seventeen boundary hits. On returning to the pavilion he received a fcremendou3 oration. Tho Australians in their first innings were all out for 156, the scores being — Blackham 4, Lyons 50, Murdoch 23, Trott 0, Joneß 1, Barrett 29, Walters 6, Gregory 7, Turner 1, Trumble 8, Ferris not out 27. Lyons was at the wickets for fifty minutes and hit brilliantly all round. la their second essay the Australians fared even worse, all being disposed of for 107, leaving the Players victorious by an innings and 263 runs. The scores in the second innings were : — Lyons 24, Blackham 4, Murdoch 7, Trott 6, Barrett 0, Walters 0, Jones 34, Gregory 13, Turner 9, Ferris 3, Trumble not out 4. In the first innings Lohmann took five wickets for 61 runs, and Peel three for 18. In tho second innings Lohmann took four wickets for 43 runs, Briggs five for 51. The wicket wasperfeofc throughout the match, which was witnessed by some 10,000 people* LONDON, Juke 22. In the match between Cambridge University and Sussex, the former scored 703 for nine wickets. [This is the highest aggregate score made in England, in a first-class match, the previous record being 698 by Surrey against Sussex, at the Oval, on August 9, IBBB.J
