THE HUNTERS' PRISES.

At tlie Metropolitan Show. llr G. King has just issued the followingcircular to gentlemen interested in the breeding of hunters and hackneys : — " Deau Sir, — With a view to increase the interest in the classes for light and heavy weight hacks, hunters and sportingteams, such as tandems and four-in-hands, at our Metropolitan Show, I have again asked the Committee to offer at our incoming Show the same prizes as were given last year. This thoCominitteehas consented to do, but, as you are aware, although respective prizes are a large increase in previous years, they do not afford sufficient inducement for owners of hunting horsea to keep them up till Showtime. To obviate this, my desire is to augment the prizes by private subscriptions. Last year I met with a liberal response from Messrs A. E. G. Rhodes, G. Rutherford, J. S. Rutherford, D. Rutherford, and A. W. Money* all of whom showed their interest,, both in the 'classes referred to and the success of tho Show, and this has encouraged me again to appeal for the necessary assistance, the fact being unquestionable that the jumping affords the great feature of thb Show. " Mr J. Anderaon, tho President, has signified his intention of presenting a handsome cup or other souvenir ; Mr C* Amyeß ha 3 contributed .£lO 10s, and Mr G. Rutherford £5 5s towards the fund. " All contributions go into a general fund, which i 3 subsequently divided into the respective classes, consequently contributors will not appear to bo competing for money subscribed by themselves. "As tho catalogues are now in course of preparation, I shall take it aa a kindness if you respond as soon as convenient.— l am. &c, " GEOEGB KING."
