What Shall We Do With Out Boys?
; TO' THU EDITbB. Sib, — I gather from a letter in your issue of last night, that this burning question of the day has at laßt been solved by the two officers now in charge of the railway at Lyttelton. Both, lam tola", come with a pood record, and are now showing how worthy they are of the encomiums previously passed on them. The question that has exercised men of brains for years has now been solved by — I need not mention the names, all Lyttelton knows who— • by the very simple method of putting them on the railway. But they do not stop at boys— not much ! ' In their infinite wisdom they have also introduced female labour. Ergo, the question "What shall we do with our girls ?"' ia now also set at rest, and if these demigods are only allowed their own sweet will, our railways will soon be run by our boys and girls. Well, why not P It is cheap labour.— l am, <_c. PENGUIN. Lyttelton, April 24."
