I A meeting of the Committee was held yesterday morning ; present — Messrs A. W. Beaven (in the chair), Howland, Buchanan, Russell, Kirk, Booth, Scott, Curlett (Treasurer) and C. A. Jones (Hon ! Secretary). I The President submitted certain proposals respecting the future work of the Association, and enumerated the questions which in his opinion should be more immediately dealt with. | It was ultimately decided to hold a general meeting on an early date, when the subjects for consideration will be the railway tariff, differential rating, and other matters arising therefrom. On the motion of Air Russell, seconded by Mr Howland, it was resolved to change the hour of meeting from 11 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., such change to come into operation on next meeting of Committee, on April 24. Messrs W. T. C. Mills and J. Baldwin were elected members. Mr Scott moved, and Mr Howland seconded — "That the President and Mr G. T. Booth be constituted a deputation to interview the local editors with a view of securing regular and periodical reportß of the condition and progress of the various manufactories." Carried. After passing accounts for payment, the Committee adjourned.
