year. Board op Education Election. —The election of a member of the North Canterbury Board of Education has resulted in the return of Mr John Joyce. Cantebbuby Caledonian Society. —A special general meeting of this Society will be held on Friday evening next, at the rooms', to consider the future programme of sports and other matters. OddFellow'ship. —The fortnightly meeting of the Ridgley Lodge, 1.0.0. F., A.C., was held in the Orange Hall, Worcester street, on Wednesday evening, Bro J. White, N.Gk, presiding: There waß a large attendance. One candidate was initiated. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the visiting brothers. Bro3 Towhsend, D.D.G.M., and Donaldson, Washington Lodge, replied. It was decided to hold a social gathering' nt< on early date.
