LUNDON, Arnii, 17. Miss Amy Horton (Mrs Hepburn) iias been engaged to appear in a burlesque writteu by Fergus Hume. HEAVY DEFALCATIONS. A {native cashier of the Chartered Bank of Indiu, Australia, and China has made large defalcations, and the Directors of the Bank have placed the sum of .£50,000 to the credit o£ the Contingent Fund to provide for the losses. YORK CONVOCATION. The Upper House of the York Convocation, on the motion of Bishop* Moorhouse, instructed .the clergy to encourage Boards of Conciliation for the settlement of industrial disputes, and the extension of co-operative production. The Lower House protested against the Divorce Act, and expressed sympathy with the clergy.
