COMMUNICATION WITH THE QUEEN.
His Excellency said : Before wo disperse, I aa anxious to announce to you that; a fow days ago I cent a telegram to Her Majesty the Queen, informing her that this Eskibiclon would be opened to-day. Three cheers were then called for His Excellency by the President, and were heartily given j and three more for tho Countess of Ocalow. Tho Vice-regal party rotired by way of the western avenue, where tho official representatives of Victoria and New South Wales were presented to His Excellency. The public were then admitted, and during the first Lalf-hour alone 2036 entered. There was a great crush at the turnstiles, and had not a fence been erected oufcaido during the night, ifc would have been still woree. There is but one opinion amongst the visitors, teat, allowing for the delay of a quarter of an hour or so beyond the appointed time, the ceremony went off as smoothly as possible. The programme was carried out with entire success, . and no hitch of any sort waa perceptible.
