From the Hospital cml Charitable Aid Board, re appointment of a representative for the Borough. From the Standard Insurance Company, stating that on surrender <■■£ present fidelity guarantee policy, a refund of six months' premium would be made. From the Rangiora and Mandovilloßoad' Board, stating that they were willing to complete the Beach road if the Council would bear half the cost. From sundry burgesses, enclosing arrears of rates. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, re Crown grant of certain porbiona of the foreshore in the Borough. From the Inspector of Nuisances, cover- 1 ing report, which waß adopted. Councillor LUsftinan was elected to represent the Borough at the election of a member for the Hospital Board. It was resolved to accept the offer of- the Standard Insurance Company. It was resolved to defer the consideration of the offer made by the Mandeville Eoad Board. A letter received from Mr Milsom was referred to the Sanitary Committee. REPORTS. The Surveyor's report was read and adopted, and he was instructed to proceed against defaulting ratepayers, subject to the approval of the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee reported the receipts for the past fortnight to be £43 3s. General account— Debtor, M2l 17s 9d. Loan account— Creditor, .£435 Os sd. And advised payment of accounts amounting to J836 Oi 7d. : The report was adopted. Councillor Liesaman reported for thft Fire Prevention Committee that the sump in Charles street wanted cleaning out. The matter was referred to the Works Committee. The meeting then closed.
