New Zealand and Tahiti.

[Feb Pbbss Association.] AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. The Governor of Tahiti, M. Laecade., met the membeis of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to-day at their roomß, New Zealand Insurance Buildings. -His Excellency said hevras mostanzious to establish, relations between his Colony and New Zealand, and believed they would be mutually satisfactory. Hitherto the course of trade from Tahiti had been to San Francisco, but this year the subsidy to tho line of steamers would cease, and the result wonld be to throw the bulk of the trade into tlie hands of New Zealand, which was nearer and more convenient. He wished, therefore, to establish aline of steam service in direct communication with the San Francisco service at Apia, and hoped to come to arrangements with the Union Company during his visit to Dunedin shortly. The principal trade wonld be in meats, groceries, provisions, timber, and in fact everything except clothing. '
