A DOUBTFUL MIRACLE.
A worthy clergyman in the NoitSi of. Ireland was discoursing on the miracle ' of Chrißt feeding the multitude, and Jn the course of his remarks made the follbWw ing Blip:— "Our blessed Saviour feiWS men with fire thousand loaves and a fb"# small fishes," at which one Paddy M'Graw said quite audibly, "That was no mi&cSf at all, at all j I could do that myself." ' Atf the close of the service the church office* told the clergyman of the mistake he had made, and also of Faddy M'Graw'a rude remark. " Well," aaid the clergyman, "it waa very wrong in Paddy M'Graw to say that, but I'll be even with him next Sunday." Next Sunday came, and to the astonishment of the congregation their pastor gave out aa hia text the very same passage that he had preached from the previous Sunday. ' Very calmly and distinctly he began his sermon by saying, "Our blessed Saviour fed five thousand men with five loaves and a few small fishes." Then looking straight to the pew where Paddy M'Graw was anting he said : " Could Paddy M'Graw do that f" Paddy, however, waa equal to the occasion, and rising promptly in his pew, replied i " Maybees, your riverence, I could, wid the lavins from last Sunday." The worthy clergyman has not since discoursed on that miracle."
