POLICE COURT. CHRISTCHURCH. This Dat. (Before R. "Weßtenra, E. Skog, Esqs.) Drunkenness.— One offender was fined ss. ■ Disobdirlt Conduct.— A charge of assault against Albert Ashley was withdrawn, and informations were laid against W. Murray, J. Qreen, Martha Halliburton, Maggie Kellie and Fanny Newton, for being found in a house which was occupied by thieves and persons who have no lawful means of support. The evidenoe showed, that there had been a series of disturbances during Monday night, in tbe course of whioh Ashley, who is a Volunteer, had drawn a bayonet) and brandished it about considerably without doing anyone any harm. As it was proved that the furniture in the house; waa the property of Fanny Newton she-was sentenced to one month?., imprisonix-en. with hard laboui.,, and the charge a&\ against the others was -dis* missed- ....
