Mr Ballance gave notice this afternoon to move on going into Committee of Supply that it is expedient that the present Parliament be dissolved on the expiration of the present session, and a new Parliament assemble as soon as possible after the end of the current financial year. The notice was received with cheers from all sides of the House. THE ELL PETITION. The Petitions Committee report agaioet George Waldock Ell. EAILWA.T KMPLOTKEB. The Government Kail way Employees* Insurance Bill provides for . employees paying regularly into a fund, from which they will receive benefits in case of sickness, superannuation, death or accident. The Bill is only circulated for information. THB OPPOSITION. A large meeting of the Opposition today expressed satisfaction with Mr Ballance'B leadership. With regard to his motion, it is said that Government will not make it a No-confidence question, but will whip up very much. Probably the discus* sion will take place to-morrow night. THE KAIL BEEVICEB. The mail service debate is expected to have a very close result, but it is thought the Government will win. L&TJtll. Both sides claim a majority. The division is expected to be very close.
