New Zbala.ni> Exhibition.— At * meeting of the Ashburton Local Committee of the New Zealand Exhibition, held 04 - Monday evening, there was bat a small attendance, and the Mayor presided. In consequence of repeated email attendances, adjournments had had to occur, and this was the fourth meeting at which the attendance had been so small that important business had had to be held over. In the course of discuasiou, it cropped up that, although the attendance at the meetings had been small, there was no lack of willingness to subscribe, and the amount received and th« sums promised werG such as to justify the Committee in believing that enough funds would be fortbeotumg to enable them to enter for apace sufficient to give the County a good display. Many gentlemen interested in the welfare cf the County had not yet subscribed, but it was belioved they would do so. The Chairronu enumerated the exhibits that had already been placed at his disposal, and it was decided to invite more from all parts of the County. It was also decided to have the County's exhibits on view in Asliburtou before they -went to the Exhibition.
