The market is very quiet. Maize is declining at 3s to 3a 2d. Barley, Cape, is 3s; English, 4s 6d, nominal. Bran, New Zealand, is Is. Pollard is dull at Is Id to 1b l£d. Blue Prussian peas of inferior quality are 3s 9d; best sorts are -is 3d. Chaff, New Zealand, .£6 to £G 10a. Potatoes, New Zealand, £4> to £4, ss; Circular Heads, £A 103 to £5. Onions, New Zealand, £20; Victorian, £19. The butter market is glutted; New Zealand, 7d to Is. Great interest was taken in the sale today of the D'Artagnan's cargo of sugar. The bidding was brisk, and almost exciting. The whole cargo was sold in bond at £36 to £36 53 for finest grey crystals; £36 15s fine to finest whites. A fortnight ago sugar sold here at £22 to £24 10s.
