Sergeant O'Malley stated that from enquiries made hq found } that accused had some time ago been . remanded at. Christchoroh for medical 3 i treatment, as he was suffering at the time ' from delirium tremens. He was fined 4.05, ] or in default seven days' imprisonment. , Obscene Language. — James E. Fox, a < steward on board the R.M.S.S. Kimutaka, 1 was charged with using obscene language j while drunk, and also with resisting Constable Drake in the execution of his^duty. The offences were proved by Constable Drake and John Buckley. The Bench l : dismissed the charge of using obscene ] \ language, and fined accused 40s, in default ; i three days' imprisonment, for being drunk j and resisting the police. " j j
