POLICE COURT. j , CHRISTCHURCH. ; This Day. (Before R. Westenra and W. 11. j ■ Hargreaves, Esqs.) : Drunkenness. — The case of Mary Doyle, ' convicted on the previous day of drunken- , ness, and remanded for the police to ] enquire ofc the Mount Magdala authorities whether they had instructions about her, was called before the Court. The police reported that she had been fcatfen [ in at Mount Magdala, and the Court fined her ss, with Is cab hire. Charles Hunter, for drunkenness in St : Asaph street, was fined ss, and Is for cab ; hire. — Thomas Wilson, charged with drunkenness and using obscene language in Manchester street, in and near the Railway Hotel, was fined 20a or three days • for drunkenness, and sent to gaol for three days' hard labour, for iising obscene language, and ordered to pay 2s cab hire. — William Calder, for drunkenness in Victoria street, was fined ss. A first offender was fined 53, with twenty-four hours' imprisonment in default of payment.
