PARNELL v. TIMES.
Figott Absconded. A Warrant Issued. Confession and Denial. [br bj.bctsio telegbapb,-copy&iqbt.\ [Special to Press Association.] [Seoetod Feb. 27, at 12.40 p.ra.l LONDON, FjSB; 26. Pigott did not appear in Court today, and it was ascertained that he had been missing from the hotel where he was staying since eleven o'clock last night. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Sir C. Rusßell states that on Saturday Pigott, in the presence of Messrs Labouchere and GL A. Sala, signed a written confession that he I forged the letters himself.
Mr Shannon, one of the solicitors employed by the Times, produced a letter written by Pigott, stating that this confession ■ was tmtrue. In the letter Pigott stated that he got the first batch from Pat Case/, and believed them to be genuine. Pigott wrote the body and Casey forged the signature to two of the second batch of Parnell letters, and also one of Davitt's and one of O'Kelly's. He asserts that none of Egan's were forged.
