-• The Pictures. [Fbb Pbbsb Association] DUNEDIN, Jan. 18. The Colonial Secretary advises the Exhibition Commissioners that it will cost .£SOOO to send over the pictures in the Melbourne Exhibition. The Colonial Secretary wires : — " If your Committee is of opinion the pictures ought to, be had even: at something liietho above cost, Government will communicate the decision to Mr Twopeny, and ask him to do everything possible to lessen the expense, and also telegraph to the Agent-General to use his best efforts to get as many of the pictures as he can." The Commissioners aak that Mr Twopeny be instructed to report what portion of the loan collection is . available, and the cost under the best arrangement, possible-. .
