THE PANAMA CANAL.
THE UNITED STATES SENATE. [Special to Pbess Association.] WASHINGTON, Jan. 8. The Senate has, by forty-nine to three, adopted a motion by Mr G. ~. Edmunds, Senator for Vermont, declaring that the Senate disapproves . of the Government having any connection with European control over the Panama Canal, as it would be injurious to American interests, and requesting the President to express to the European Powers the views of the Senate on the question.
