Crowds surged, around the office of the Panama Canal Company yesterday, owing to a rumour of financial difficulties iv connection with the undertaking. There was a very excited scene, and M. de Lesseps, in. a speech the to crowd tearfully appealed to Frenchmen to save the enterprise, M. Floquet, who who has been consulting experts in reference to the Panama Caral scheme, announced in the Chamber of Deputies to-day, that should the Panama loan fail Government would guarantee the amount necessary to carry out the undertaking to a sue* cessf ul issue. SUAKIM»;Dec. 13. The bombardment of this place continues, and the firing has become heavier.
