Hayter and M'Mahon were brought before the Police Court yesterday, charged with the outrage at the Onehunga waterworks reservoir and remanded. It is Alleged that on two previous occasions deliberate attempts have been made to destroy the reservoir. In one case the bottom was injured, apparently by an explosion of dynamite. His Honor Mr Justice Gillies left to-day to hold the criminal sessions at New Plymonth, afterwards going on to the Appeal Court at Wellington. It is reported that valuable silver deposits have been discovered in the Mokau district. The Bowing Association met last night and resolved to open the season next Saturday, and hold an annual rowing regatta.
