THE AUSTRALIANS v. GLOUCESTERSHIRE. fSpEcnir to Pbbss Association.] LONDON, August 9. The Australians commenced a cricket match at Clifton to-day against an eleven representing the County of Gloucester. The latter went in first, and afc the lunch Adjournment had loßt five wickets for 120 runs. In the match against the Australians, which commenced at Clifton to-day, Gloucesterihite made 214 runs in their first innings, Townsend, with 66, being the principal scorer for the County team. Lyonß secured two wickets for 73, Ferris two for 68, Trott two for 48, Worrell two for 32, and Boyle one for nought. Turner did not play. At the close of the day's playthe Australians had lost six wickets for 83 runs, Trott not out with 48 being the prjacipal ecorer. Notwithstanding that the day was overcast, some rain falling during the afternoon, there was a large? attendance of spectators.
