Pbesi-Ntation. — The tramway employees invited Mr John Armitage to meet them in the Gladstone Hotel last night, and presented him with a meerschaum pipe, ass a tokenof their -esteem. The presaatsfcion was made by Mr Chalmers, aud euitably acknowledged by Mr Armitage in a few appropriate words. Songi were sung by tho-foHowing gentlemen : — Messrs Eking, Roberta, Jackson, Lloyd, Robinson, Gilpin, and. Ruck. Tho toasts of " Success to the Tramway Oor-ipany," "The gneat^Mr Cbattnera,*" and ** Mr Bptu-no -*"*^Were*.-TOjlyj bonoured -.also " Absent Friends "■'■coupled with the nameß of Mr .Evans andiM^Post. The singing of "Auld Lang ..-Syne " brought-a very pleasant eyening.:to._**_&o_Be.
