ing at Chinnery's flax mill, had his right -arm drawn into the scutcher, and so shockingly mangled that Dra Clayton and Downes found it necessary to amputate it close to the shoulder. The unfortunate man is married, but has no family. At noon he was in a favourable condition, having stood the operation very well.
