A CURIOUS DISTURBANCE.

Our correspondent at Akaroa telegraphed last night as follows :— All day there has been a swell in the sea here, which was unusually great for this harbour. There has scarcely been anything like it since the earthquake wave 10 years ago, though to-day's disturbance did nob equal that. The barque Rose M. lying at the jetty, wrenched it about so that its collapse was feared, and the barque cast off about five in the afternoon and anchored a little way off.
