THE FIRE BRIGADE DEMONSTRATION.

The following members have been chosen to represent the Wellington Municipal Fira Brigade in the annual Association competition, which takes place in Christohurch iii February next :— Assistant Foreman J. Lawrence (in charge of the team), Assistant Foreman H. S. Woolcott, Firemen S. Webb, J. Peterson, E. Paynet, and — Kennedy. Fireman Kennedy will also act as the Wellington delegate at the Conference to be held during the week of the demonstration. NELSON, Nov. 18. The twenty-first anniversary of the Nelson Fire Brigade was celebrated to-day, when that Brigade, with the Salvage Corps and the Richmond Fire Brigade, with the wives and families of the members, joined in a big picnic in coaches and other carriages. The Town Brigade and Corps left early this morning, and were joined at Richmond by the other Brigade. The Garrison Eand also accompanied the line of carriages. . They exceeded a mile in length. Arriving at Tomlinßoh's Bush, Brightwater, where had been erected, dinner was served and games of all kinds indulged in, while monster Christmas trees yielded prizes to every child. In the afternoon some 2000 people visited the picnic, who, after tea and dancing on the green, returned to town in the vehicles, all having spent a most enjoyable day, unmarred by mishap.
