Mr Bryce ba3 satisfied himself that he h&s ». strong case against Mr Hutchison for corrupt and illegal practices at the late election, and has determined to present a petition to have the election declared void. The petition -will be presented on Friday morning. If successful, a fresh election will be necessary, ss Mr Bryce will not claim the seat. Mr Fitzherbert, Crown Prosecutor here, and Mr H. Bell, of Wellington, have been retained in Mr Bryce's interest.
