Linwood.
Mr D. Reese's Committee met last night at the East Belt, when a very large muster took place. Mr J. T. Smith was in the chair, and received reports of a most enthusiastic and congratulatory nature from the different canvassers in the district. It was stated by the Chairman that Mr Reese would meet the electors of Linwood at Phillipstown next Friday night, and at Richmond on Saturday night next. The meeting then adjourned. Mr Flesher, one of the candidates for Linwood, addressed the electors at the Forester's Hall, Richmond, last evening. Mr J. Datton presided. At the commencement of the meeting there were not a great number present, but before tho termination the hall was crowded, including several ladies. Mr Flesher, in the main, repeated the views expressed by him at previous meetings. Mr Flesher concluded his remarks by stating that he would support the Stout- Vogel Government. After answering a number of questions, the greater part of which were more or lesß of a personal character, to the evident satisfaction of three-fourths cf those present, the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair. Three ringing cheers were then given for Mr Flesher, quickly followed by three more for Mr Loughrey. Mr Flesher'B Committee will meet at the Church of England schoolroom, Phillipstown, this evening at 7.30.
