Father Chiniquy.
[Per Press Association.]
WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. A private letter has been received in Wellington from the Eev. W. Morrison, dated from the Omstown Manse, Province of Quebec, Canada, July 28, 1887, referring to the rumour of Pastor Chiniquy's death, and giving it a flat contradiction. Mr Morrison states that he saw, and frequently spoke to, Father Chiniquy at the. Presbyterian General Assembly, held at Winnipeg, Manitoba, in June last. They were both members of that assembly, and the Rev. Mr Chiniquy was able to speak with all Mb wonted earnestness ana eloquence, and looked as if his health would enable him to continue to do so for years.
