Australian J.C. Spring Meeting.
[Special to Press Association.]
„., SYDNEY, Sept. 19. There was a very large attendance of sporting men at TatteraalFs to-night, and betting was spirited. Phaon came up with a rush, and was backed at 100 to 20. Subsequently a commission was executed in Mb favour, and he was foac&ed to win £7000 at 100 to 25. Spade Guinea, Cardigan, aud Morok are Blightly easier in the market since Phaon came up in the market, but a considerable amount of money has been invested on Dunlop. Notwithstanding Phaon's sudden rise, the respective Btables appear to fancy the chances of Spade Guinea, Pasha, and Dunlop, and there is also a disposition to back Kifcawa.
The horeea claiming most attention from the public for the Metropolitan Stakes are Cardigan, Phaon, Spado Guinea, Dunlop, and Morok. Crossfire was scratchsd thig evening. The latest quotations for the Metrouoli' tan are .• —
