Avon Rowing Club.

The sixth annual meeting of this Club was held last evening in the Club's boat shed. A large number of members were present, and Mr Jame3 Freeman was voted to the chair. The report, which was read and adopted, showed that the number of members on the roll ■was 52, being a slight increase over that of the previous year. The Club during last season had taken part in all the principal races, and the result was considered satisfactory. A great improvement was noticed in their form, which had led the Committee to expect that great things would be accomplished in the future. The juniors also showed good form last year, but even better things were expected from them during the coming season. New racing and practice sculls had arrived from England, and the whole of the Club's property was in very good condition. The balance-sheet for !the year showed the receipts to have been .£85 13s and the balance inhandwasJß4 03 6d. The following officers were then elected :— President, Mr James Dalziel; Vice-Presidents, Messrs W. B. Williams, H. Crooks, and Borlan ; Captain, Mr James Freeman ; Vice-Captain, Mr W. Lamb; Secretary, Mr G. A. Mazey; Treasurer, Mr T. Harrison ; Committee, Messrs H. Wigzell, W. Davies, C. Baker, A. Hobbs, F. Rowley. E. Bourland, and W. Wood.
