Sale ov a Theatke. — Sloan'3 Theatre, Invercargill, was offered at auction on Saturday, and was bought in for £50 over the mortgage.

Submarine Mining. — Ifc is stated that Captain Faulkner, who is at present in Lyttelton, will probably deliver a lecture on submarine mining shortly.

Auction Sales. — Mr Beauchamp announces an extensive sale oE furniture, bacon, &c, for to-morrow. Also, a sale at Woodend, in the estate of a general storekeeper, for Thursday.

Sr Mart's, Addington.— A concert and dramatic entertainment will be held in St Mary's Schoolroom, Addington, this evening, at 8 o'clock. There will be a good programme by well-fcnown amateurs j also, a farce by the Phillipstown Dramatic Club, entitled "Should This Meet the Eye." As this entertainment is in aid of the Choir Fund, it is hoped there will be a good attendance.

Cathedral Choir Boys' Eecreation Fund. — The performances of "School" by amateurs at the Theatre Eoyal this week are announced to be for the benefit of the Christchurch Cathedral Choir Boys' Recreation Fund, of which the balance-sheet has been circulated. This shows liabilities to the amount of .£251 103, and estimated receipts from various sources J2ISS, leaving a balance of £03 10s, due to the Percentor.

Accident. — Yesterday afternoon the eight-year-old son of Mr Robertson, baker and confectioner in Victoria street, met with a serious accident whilst in charge of a horse and cart in his father's yard. It appeared that ho had been left there by the driver, who, however, had taken the precaution to lock one of the wheels before leaving him. The horse afterwards became restive, and the boy in attempting to get out of the cart fell, and one of the wheels passed over his leg. Dr Mickle was at once called to attend him, when it was found that the leg was broken.
