Sydenham.
A meeting of the School Comvoittee was held on the 6th inßt. Present— Rev. H. B. Cocks (Chairman), 'Measrs J. Sherlock, jB. Muffifit, J. Farrester, O. Peacock and W. J. Eudd. The Chairman reported having met a deputation from the Board of Education, an d ifc was agreed that the Committee be em powered to engage St Saviour's Bche.c/lroom to relieve the present over- crowd/ ici state of the school. The Inspectors, U-eesrs L. B. Wood and W. J. Anderson, reported on the annual examination recently made by them, which was o£ a most gratifying nature to all interested, and reflected very creditably on the teaching sti iff. In their remarks they stated that t'/ie results of examination are in their general character similar to laist year, with the important difference of a striking (Advance made in Standards 111. and VK.of the girls' department, the order and • discipline of the school being excellent. 7i.'he percentages of passes are 55 of the wJhole school, and 88 of the number pri » sented. It was resolved that a letter congratulating the staff be sent to the hea.d master. After passing sundry accoupt'fs the meeting I separated. ■ j
