Concert at Annat.
A concert, in aid of the children's prize fund, was held at the school on Friday evening, Mr G. A. Keys, the Chairman of the Annat Sohool Committee, presiding. There wae a very fair attendance, and songs were rendered by the ! Missea Mounsey (2), Meadows, Ruck (2), and Miss Bowler, and Jjy Messrs Kent, Meadows, Bryden, Bavie, Pole, and Judd. Mies E. Price gave two instrumental pieces, which evoked loud applause. Several choruses were sung by the school children, who had been exceedingly well coaohedfor the occasion by Miss M. Tressidder. The Chairman, in thanking those who had assisted, mentioned that the Rev W. 8. Scan had given a liberal subscription to the prize fund. An adjournment was then made to the Orange Hall, where a fancy dress ball was held. This was attended by a large number of Sheffield and Springfield people. Some of the beat ladies' coatuines were worn by Mibb M. Tressidder, as a Highland Lassie ; Marguerite, Miss Chapman; Hungarian Peasant, Misß White; Mary Queen of Scots, Mrs Owen ; Colleen Bawn,MissE.Brown;ltalianPeaßant,Misa , W Brown, and British Columbia, Mra t Hall. Among the gentlemen were: A***Highlander, Mr D. C. M'Beath; Sailor, Mr Taylor; Huntsman, Mr Brown; Jookey, Mr M'Oloud} FrenoH Count, Mr Hall; Political Plenipotentiaries, Messrs , G. Judd and G-. Green.
