School Committees.
1> RANGIORA.
The monthly meeting of this Committe9 was hold last week ; present — Messrs H. Boyd (Chairman), C. R. King, T. Boyd, 0. Jones, J. Bell, S. Stephens, and C. I. Jennings. Mr Hogben's inspection report was read, and proved to be luoreorless satisfactory. The inspection, was made on June 14 and 15. A letter was also read from the headmaster, explaining some points of the report. The master's report showed the number of children on the roll at present to be 334-— l7l boys and 163 girls ; and the average attendance for the two weeks since the holidays to have been 2799 and 239. Alistof absentees was given, and it wa3 resolved to communicate with their parents. Mr Jennings reported that a lawn tennis set could be procured for the girls at a cost of about .£3 ; and it was agreed to allow the matter to stand over till next meeting, to ascertain whether the funds would permit of an asphalt court being put down. The meeting thea terminated.
