COMMITTALS FOR TRIAL.

DAMAGES FOR FALSE IMPRISONMENT. AUCKLAND, July 26. John Russell, Patrick Carroll, and Walter Egginton were committed for trial to-day at the Police Court for stealing a silver watch, value J£o, from A. Donaldson. Two of the accused were yesterday sentenced to three months for vagrancy. Walter Bowdage waß also committed for trial, on a charge of the larceny of a silver watch, a suit of clothes, and other articles to the value of the property of F. C. Faulkner.

At the District Court, J. W. Thompson claimed £100 damages for false imprisonment. The plaintiff had been charged at the Police Court with the larceny of 101 b Of tea from Mrs Thomas, -when the case was diemiesed, and the present suit accordingly taken. Judgment was given for Thompson for £25.
