RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

WANG AN [JI, July 25. The exprees train from Wellington this eveniDg met with an accident when about six miles north of Marton. Owing to the heavy rain the ground was washed away at a small embankment, leaving thirteen sleepers merely supported by the rails. The engine crossed all right and kept on the metals, but the rest of the train, composed of three trucks, tho mail van and two passenger carriages, were thrown off the line. Fortunately there wa3 no injury to the passengers, the train arriving at Wanganui an hour and a quarter late.
