LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the above Council was held last night. There were present — Hia Worship the Mayor, Councillors Milsom, M'Lellan, Joyce, Dimond, Holland, Hildyard, Baia. Correspondence was read — From Mr G. Dennis, caretaker of the baths, asking that the rates of the baths be remitted. Bequest granted. !From Mrs Flett, having reference to the culvert through her property. It was decided to put the yard adjoining the drain in order. Prom Mr G. N. Haxell, with regard to shifting surplus earth off the piece of ground adjoining his property, and asking the Council to assist him. From the Rev Bond, drawing the Council's attention to the bad state of the road to the Public Cemetery. Decided to put a man on to repair the road. FINANCE. The receipts since last meeting were reported as .£202 11s 2d. Accounts amounting to £124 23 2d were passed for payment. UKPORTS. The report of the Foreman of Works was read.
