MEETING OP THE COMMITTEE. A Committee meeting of the Sydenham Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Society was held on Wednesday. There was a full attendance, every member being present, and Mr J. J. Parker was voted to the chair. The following special prizes were then received and allotted to the various classes : — MrJ. Bailey, £5 03, for the best game ' cock in the show ; a number of fanciers, j £4- 10s for the beat game pullet in the show ; Lyttelton Times Company, £1 Is for the best black red cock in the show ; Mr J. Mather, .£1 Is for the beet brown red cock in the show ; Mr J. T. Fisher and Mr R. Young, 100 6d each for ths best duckwing cock in the Bhow ; Messrs E. Recce j and Sons, .£2 2s for the best black red hen in the show ; Mr A. Ayerß, £1 Is for the beat brown red hen in the show; Mr J. J. j Parker and Mr G. Ritchie, 103 6d each for the best duckwing hen in the show ; Messrs Nashelaki and Co., £1 Is for the best pair of bantams in the show ; Mr J. Johnston and Mr T. Teape, 103 6d each for the best Spanish cock in the show ; Mr J. Rountree, £1 Is for the best Langshan hen in the show ; Mr F. C. Bowler, £1 Is for the best pair of Plymouth Rocks ; Mr Ambtose Johnston, £1 Is for the best pair of Ham- ' ; burgs in the show; Mr G. Kelly and Mr ! W. E. Munday, 10s 6d each for the best j j carrier in the show ; Messrs Sandstein and i Co., JBl Is for the best dragoon in the show ; j Messrs Jlilner and Thompson, £3 3s for the beßt flying tumbler in the show; Mr J. Yatps, .£1 Is for the best baldh^ad in the show ; Mr J. Lister and Mr T. H. Moore, 10s 6d each for the best short-faced tumbler in the show; Mr R. M. Taylor, M.H.R., ■£1 1b for the best barb in the show ; Mr J. Forrester (Mayor), £1 Is for the best Belgian canary in the 6how ; Captain Fisher, £1 Is for the best Norwich in the show ; Mr F. W. Powell, £1 3 s for the best four canaries, irnj other variety ; Mr J. Fuhrmann, .£1 Is for the best canary in classes 119 to 125, inclusive. The tender of tho ! Sydenham Bra3s Band was accepted to i perform outside on the first night of the exhibition. - After & large amount of other important business had been gone through, the meeting adjourned till July 27.
