BLENHEIM, Julx 21.
Sir E.. Stout addressed a meeting of electors and non-electors here to-night. The building was crowded. The speech was chiefly devoted to the defence of the village settlement scheme and the education system. He declared he would rather retire than give way on the questions of land sett-lenient and education. Mr H. Dodson proposed a vote of thanks, and Mr G-. Henderson seconded it. Mr S. J. Macslisfcer proposed as an amendment a vote of thanks and confidence, which was carried. Sir R. Stout was heartily cheered. Ho left for Wellington immediately after the meeting.
