HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

The House met at 1.55 p.m. A message was received from the the Legislative Council, requiring the attendance of members to hear the Governor's Speech. NEW MEMBERS. On resuming, Messrs Bracken, Jones, Fraser, Monk, and Honi Taipua, all new members, took the oath, and received their seats. NOTICE OF MOTION. Sir 6. Grey gave notice to move for leave to introduce a Bill to authorise the purchase or other acquisition of private land for settlement. NEW BILL. . Sir B. Stout introduced the Banks and Bankers Act Amendment Bill. ADDRESS IN-REPLY. Mr Fbaser gave notice to move the Address-in-Eeply to the Governor's Speech. THE PROGRESS OF BUSINESS. Mr Brtce asked the Government what course they intended to take as to the progress of business in the House. Sir E. Stout said the House would meet to-morrow, and it was the intention of the Government to go straight on with the business. The Houße rose at 2.50 p.m.
